What is Sex & Porn Addiction?

Engaging in persistent and escalating patterns of sexual behavior acted out despite increasing negative consequences to self and others.

This includes compulsive sex and masturbation as well as the compulsive use of porn, hiring of prostituted people and frequenting strip clubs, massage parlors, dungeons, legal brothels and other establishments where sexual services are sold.

Often, these behaviors start as a way to sooth, escape from reality or cope with emotional and relational pain.

These behaviors interfere with normal living and causes severe stress on family, friends, loved ones, and one’s work environment.

KYLE SANCHEZ, M.A.

Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, #IMH20130

Kyle enjoys working with clients dealing with depression, anxiety, pornography and sex addictions, anger issues, relationship issues, grief, trauma, abuse and emotional and spiritual growth.

As a counselor, Kyle passionately believes that the first step in a client's healing is feeling safe and establishing a place of security for the client. He feels that we are most wounded and most healed in relationships and the counseling relationship is the first place where that healing can begin. He feels it is important to gain awareness of how our past relationships and experiences have impacted us on an emotional, psychological, and spiritual level and how we live out those experiences in the present. It is with this insight we can then pursue living differently and begin risking and engaging relationships in a new way.

Kyle graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts & Science in Criminology degree and received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary.
